The first impression of the restaurant ‘Ferma’ (‘the Farm’) you get is how big it is – spacious dining hall, high ceiling, the stairs running to the 2d floor. Correct usage of decorative stuff, mild coloring, and wise design work make it homelike and comfortable: furniture made of bleached oak, forged handrails, columns of cast iron, and, of course, some pretty details such as old fashioned French stove, antic platen in the rest room. There are also a few non obsessive rustic elements.
Next impression you get with the menu which is rather large and divisive. There meals of French home cooking, pastas and pizzas, steaks, Russian salad ‘Olivier’ together with soup mix ‘Solyanka’ and dumplings. Then you can count on meals cooked on grill, at wok, private smokehouse goodies, baker and pastry. Apparently, any culinary dream…
Special menu section – sweets, pastry, cakes, patties. Big portions of quite substantial food may leave mo space for those delights. In this case there is pastry shop near by.
At the second floor there is banquet hall for 40-50 people seating well equipped for comfortable private party – separate wardrobe, rest room, TV screens, and dancing floor.
Have to mention, that restaurant ‘Ferma’ (the Farm’) doesn’t look empty. It was open not so long ago but has already been highly evaluated by the audience, and ‘Ferma’ (the Farm”) is almost fully occupied at lunch time.
Zinnyat Akbashev – the Chef – artfully combines traditions and originality in cooking. For instance, if you want to try simple spaghetti ‘Carbonara’ you can also be tempted by another like Spaghetti with shrimps and grind pistachios. ‘Borsch’ will surprise you with baked vegetables and dried plums. And pizza, of course, will knock you out with arugula and mozzarella. Side dishes look very tempting – asparagus, green peas, marinated grapes, cabbage and apple strudel. Fresh fruit-drinks, home made stewed fruit-drinks with cherry, cloudberry, cranberry and cowberry are simply amazing and unforgtable.
Word of the Chef
All the specialty of cooking in Restaurant ‘Ferma’ (‘the Farm’) is in the use of organic products. We do not buy a half-stuff products, we produce everything ourselves. We bake breads, pies ans patties, cookies, and fabulous sweet pastry. Our rolls with custard are famous around the town! Moreover, we are proud of our huge original pizza wood stove. And our smokehouse and grill are simply incredible. You can try home made hot and cold smoked fish in our restaurant.
1. Fabulous Pumpkin Soup with smoked Salmon and parsley. Served in bread-made tank.
2. Lamb Ham in herbs with cheese pie and marinated grapes. Served with sauce of wild cowberry.
3. Whole Fish – Sterlet (Russian Sturgeon), Whitefish (Lake Herring) or Sea Bass smoked in the restaurant.
4. Pizza. Try ‘Mexicana’, for instance, - ham, chicken, paprika, bunching onion, jalapeño peppers, and mozzarella cheese
5. Rolls with Chantilly custard
