The owners of the Bekitser emphasize that the Jewish and Israeli cuisine are not the same thing, and this spacious bar serves Israeli street food, cooked according to national recipes.
Here, at the open kitchen, chef prepares a real green falafel in pita bread, traditional schwarma, about a dozen of salads, and meze – classic Israeli snacks. Dish of the day can be represented by marak zanaf (oxtail soup), mafrum (potatoes stuffed with meat, on a bed of vegetables), or maklube (rice with meat).
Bar card includes classic cocktails and author cocktails, various wines (including Israeli – a rarity for St. Petersburg), several varieties of draft beer, some strong drinks from around the world.

Good Israeli dishes in the very center of St. Petersburg. The prices in Bekitzer are very reasonable, and it is opened until 6 a.m., so there are lots of students hanging out there. It is a very cozy place. The only problem is their open kitchen, which makes it impossible to avoid getting the food smell on your clothes afterwards.
Great surprise in the center of Saint Petersburg. The food comes fast, fresh, overall very good. Tried the spicy fish, lamb dish, set of salads. The waitress was not very fast, but really nice, friendly, smiling, and beautiful))) I like this place and will come back to try all the rest on the menu.
Decor is nice, music is fitting, overall atmosphere is bohemian/hipster, food/drinks are good and not expensive. The Bekitzer is a great way to enjoy Mediterranean cuisine in Russia.
