Tucked away in the back of the hotel, the discreet Canvas restaurant is an obvious choice for quiet lunch meetings – especially when you add in the large weekday business lunch offer which also includes a Russian tea table with samovar. The menu changes regularly, but by and large the focus is Russian and European with subtle international touches. The service is charming and efficient, and the wait staff must be commended for their professional approach and friendly attitude.

Looking at that place, I wasn’t going to eat there even though I stayed in the hotel. The interior was at least… questionable. One night I was waiting for a colleague to arrive and his flight was way late. I wanted to eat and this was my default option so I did. And I’m glad I did! Reasonable prices, great service and the food was quite good. Seafood risotto was tasty, as well as the pancakes (blini) with fruit and whipped cream. They also make quite nice breakfasts.
CANVAS,Surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant. All dishes have good strong flavours and ingredients seem fresh. Prices are on the high side, but not outrageously so (although the wines are too expensive).
