The brand new Pryanosti & Radosti restaurant opened its doors on the pedestrian walkway. It is located in building 13, next to Andrey Pervozvannyi Cathedral in the famous Duke Troekurov building – the man who, as the legend goes, fed Peter the Great himself.

Its pretty and makes you feel at home at both floors of the restaurant. Comfortable and warm in all its halls: in an under-the-roof mansard amid different color chairs and entwining green trees, in the fireplace hall where floor-to-ceiling racks are filled with wine bottles and in the main hall – where fig trees sit in small pots and parrots occupy wall niches.

There’s a lot of food at the Pryanosti & Radosti – rich variety to choose from. North, West, East and South – all represented on the menu. The ever-present brand-chef Iso Dzandzava is responsible for the oriental cuisine. For those who love food from the Caucasus – tender pkhali and Megreli-style lobio, spicy hot kharcho with sweet rice and honey churchkhela. Kebabs keep flying off the red-hot barbeque place, tandoor oven produces mouthwatering samsa and Uzbek flatbread. Oriental cuisine aside, there’s plenty to choose from here: thick lentil soup with smoked cheese, spicy Tom yam soup, sunny Mexican fajitas. Those who tend to eat carefully can opt for bulgur with chicken liver and sugudai. Young gourmets have a huge ship built for them in the kids room, which will take them on a journey. Those who want to take something home, can use the takeaway window on the 1st floor – the whole menu is available to go.

Visitors speak:

Been there a couple of times with my husband. The restaurant is really big and has various sitting areas (including outdoor) and a playroom. Tasty and original dishes, profesional service. At rush hours the cooking may take a while, but it is worth waiting. Recommended for couples, families and small companies.

We wanted to spend evening in a nice and comfortable place with tasty food. Spices & Joys is such a place – nice restaurant with lovely decorated terrace and playroom for kittle kids. The food is great. We had khachapuri, some salads and Georgian wine, and everything was delicious. The staff is friendly and seems professional. The ambience is relaxing, and the music is great too. Definitely will come back when again in Saint Petersburg.
