Vilnis is a fashionable restaurant. The interior is dominated by pastel colors and natural materials: the walls are dressed in solid oak, the floor is decorated with oak parquet, a bar counter and countertops are built from solid walnut. The upholstery of the sofas is the signature Missoni zigzag, the chandeliers are the petals of Murano glass. You can get comfortable on the sofas along the walls next to the landscapes by St. Petersburg artist Dmitry Kustanovich, or you can sit at the round tables at large panoramic windows.
The menu is a modern look at European cuisine. The products are treated more than reverently: some come from our own farm in the Pskov region. The farm produces Bresse and Barnevelder chicken, pheasants, ducks, rabbits, sweet peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, sweet carrots and lettuce. We make pate from farmer’s pheasant, milanese-style chicken from hens, roosters go to soup broths, risotto and some sauces. Farm sweet peppers are served with fresh tuna, the farm rabbit is cooked in Ligurian style with olives and tomatoes. As a starter we offer juicy lettuce leaves, sliced with beef slices, or asparagus with Hollandaise sauce, for crab lovers – a cake with seafood delicacy and avocado mousse. In some positions, the Scandinavian accent can be traced: pikeperch with baked beetroot, smoked salmon mousse with bread chips. For meat lovers we offer ossobuco or tender filet mignon with spinach. Sweet tooths can enjoy sophisticated mille-feuille, sandwiched with fresh raspberries, or stewed strawberries with black pepper and ricotta cream.
In the wine list, emphasis is placed on Old World kinds: Sicilian Shiraz, Alsatian Gewurztraminer or Tuscan Sangiovese. Connoisseurs of champagne and premium wines will also be satisfied.
